Sixth grade choir is a transition year for choral students.  We will continue to perfect skills learned in the general music classes from elementary: reading notes, rests, and symbols, music history.  We will begin the process of using these skills to read and sing music by sight, and to use what we know about history and style to properly perform pieces of music.

6th grade is studying about dangerous decibels and noise induced hearing loss.  Statistics show that 25% of graduating high school students will have some hearing loss due to damage from loud noises, usually listening to loud music with headphones.  They are learning to:

           TURN IT DOWN!

           WALK AWAY!

            PROTECT YOUR EARS!
