HMS Renaissance Program
by Pati Funk
The renaissance recognition program was adopted by Hillsboro Middle School to help meet the building goal of improving student attitude. Renaissance is the joining together of business and who attend Hillsboro Middle School. Three principals define the program. The first is performance. Setting high academic standards for students and recognizing students and staff for continuous improvement in a visible, tangible, and consistent way is important to improving student attitude. Promotion of a partnership with business, parent and community organizations for academic recognition is crucial to the Renaissance Program. The recognition system in based on a set of three cards student can earn by meeting various criteria. As card holders, they are entitled to certain privileges and recognitions throughout the year.
