Love, marriage, society, and scandal. What more can you ask for in a drama? Hillsboro High School is to put on a play that depicts these qualities all in two short hours.

Pride & Prejudice was published on January 28, 1813, by English author Jane Austen. The novel was adapted for the stage by Claudia Haas. The story follows the tempestuous relationship between Elizabeth Bennet, the daughter of a country gentleman, and Mr. Darcy, a rich distinguished landowner. The romance also includes several funny characters. Lydia & Kitty Bennet have several sisterly fights that will make you chuckle. Mr. William Collins is a ridiculous character who you will love to hate. The drama is set in England during the 1800s. Pride & Prejudice references both real places and imaginary ones, such as London, Hertfordshire, Brighton, and Derbyshire. As well as fictional estates like Longbourn, Netherfield, Meryton, Pemberley, Rosings, and Hunsford. The tale teaches its audience a valuable moral lesson, that pride can lead to blindness, and it is important to look beyond appearances. Pride & Prejudice is run by director Leah Rose and assistant director Kayla Gallaway. The cast and crew consist of HMHS students Ben Werner, April Suderman, Paige Gehring, Rylie Driggers, Gabi Sibayan, Pyper Hiebert, Addison Jost, Colton Rempel, Gabbie Arnold, Angus Duell, Kaysie Rader, Nash Dickinson, Peter Farha, Mackenzie D’Albini, Maylee Hardey, Brody Arnold, Emerson Corby, Hudson Sibayan, Nora Hein, Aimee Kelley, Chloe Dirks, Claudia Soo Hoo, Austyn Driggers, Abi Benda, Jaidyn Frantz, Phoebe Moss, Adrian Unruh, Autumn Eldridge, Alivia Hefley, Trudy Hein, Grace Hein, Sam Sorenson, Bailee Gawith, Derek Suderman, Maren Reed, and Zaylee Werth.
