Hillsboro Boys Glee performing under the direction of Lynn Just

The Hillsboro High School Choir competed at the CKL Music Festival on Wednesday, February 28th at Tabor College. Events started at 8 a.m. and went on until late afternoon. Hillsboro Choir, directed by Lynn Just, competed against the following schools: Halstead, Hesston, Haven, Hoisington, Pratt, Smoky Valley, Nickerson, Larned, and Lyons. 

Congratulations to Addison Jost, Landry Duerksen, Linsdey Richert, Rylie Driggers, Gracelyn Just, Gabbie Arnold, Nora Hein, Pyper Hiebert, Sam Sorensen, April Suderman, and Annaliese Jorgenson who all scored a one on their individual solo’s. Also a congratulations to Jaylin Latham, Maria Pohlmann, Peter Farha, and Maylee Hardy who all scored twos on their solos. 

The Boy's Glee and Women’s Glee both performed two pieces at the Music Festival. The boy's glee scored a two as a group and the women's glee scored a one. There was also a mixed ensemble and a girls ensemble that performed and both groups scored a one. The full choir earned a 1 rating and the band earned a 2! Congratulations!

Hillsboro Middle School Choir also competed Tuesday, March 5 at Smoky Valley where the full choir earned a 1 rating and the band earned a 2. The middle schoolers loaded onto a bus in the late morning and returned to Hillsboro in the evening. Congratulations to all of the middle schoolers that competed! Below are the ratings; 

The following groups and soloists scored 2s: Girls Ensemble 2, Boys Ensembles 1 and 2, Cashen Gann, Emma Hamm, Eli Strathman, Abi Suderman, Kinsley Watts, Addy Winter, Hudson Sibayan- Snare, Emerson Corby- Alto Sax. 

The following groups and soloists scored 1s: Girls Ensemble 1, Mixed Ensemble, vocal soloists Brayson Amstutz, Brody Arnold, Sophie Cassiday, Emerson Corby, Josie Gooch, Easton Jost, Jemma Just, Lexi Lee, Ashtyn Matlock, Cheyenne Steinert, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Trio, Kolton Fenske- Snare, Emma Hamm- Alto Sax, Barbara Farha- Clarinet, Cheyenne Steinert- Clarinet.
